Will Riker Effect
It’s the unsettling feeling given to others by a man who has removed his facial hair and who, as a
consequence, looks strange and unfamiliar. It is often intensified by any one, or more, of these: a weak chin, thin lips, or a strongly cleft chin.
When I shaved my beard off, my girlfriend stopped putting out. She blamed it on work stress, but I think it was the Will Riker Effect.
